Properties of saffron and its health benefits

Saffron is one of the most expensive spices in the world, obtained from the saffron flower. In addition to its unique aroma and flavor, this plant also has numerous therapeutic properties that have been considered in traditional and scientific medicine.

1.Boosting mood and reducing depression

Research has shown that saffron can help reduce symptoms of mild to moderate depression and also cause happiness and cheerfulness. Its active compounds such as crocin and safranal have a positive effect on the brain and increase serotonin.
